Vietti Brunate La Morra Barolo 2015

Vietti, a family-run estate in Castiglione Falletto, is renowned for its commitment to traditional winemaking practices and the expression of unique terroirs. The winery emphasises meticulous vineyard management and minimal intervention in the cellar to produce wines of elegance and complexity.

The Brunate vineyard, situated in the commune of La Morra, is characterised by its calcareous clay soils and south-west exposure at an altitude of approximately 230 to 400 metres. Vietti's holdings in this esteemed cru yield Nebbiolo grapes of exceptional quality. In 2015, the grapes were hand-harvested and underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing for 32 months in a combination of barriques and large Slavonian oak casks.

The 2015 Barolo Brunate presents a deep ruby hue. The nose offers a complex bouquet of dark cherries, plums, and subtle notes of liquorice and leather. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, showcasing flavours of ripe red fruit, balsamic spices, and a mineral undertone. The fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity contribute to a harmonious structure, leading to a long, persistent finish. This Barolo exemplifies the elegance and depth characteristic of the Brunate cru and is poised for graceful ageing over the next two decades.
