Jansz Vintage Cuvee Sparkling 2021
Established in 1986 when Louis Roederer partnered with Heemskerk Vineyard, Jansz has become synonymous with Tasmania's Pipers River and the ""Méthode Tasmanoise"".
Vines grow on deep red basalt soils and are cooled by Bass Strait breezes. The 2021 Vintage Cuvée is a blend of roughly 60-65% Chardonnay and 35-40% Pinot Noir sourced from the estate's best blocks. Portions of the juice ferment in barrel for texture, and after assemblage the wine spends over three years on lees.
It is disgorged with a dosage of 6-7 g/L. The nose shows aromas of lemon zest, oyster shell and sweet brioche with hints of nougat and roasted hazelnut from ageing. On the palate it is creamy yet precise, combining flavours of lemon curd, strawberry and toasted pastry with a seam of chalky minerality and refreshing natural acidity.
