Christine Vernay's Pied de Samson vineyard is grown on top of the Condrieu hill where the vines are cooled by the north wind. Vinified in large oak vats, the 2022 vintage of “Le Pied de Samson” is characterised by a pale, yellow colour, a soft, fresh nose of white fruits such as pear, apricots and peach, accompanied by floral notes and a subtle touch of citrus. On the palate, this wine has an attractive liveliness where the fruity flavours blend harmoniously with spicy minerality. An elegant, pretty Viognier wine with lots of varietal character and an abiding purity. This is a good value wine which matches wonderfully with many dishes, such as seafood, grilled fish, summer salads and fresh cheeses. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif to benefit from its freshness and liveliness.
