Fleurieu Here Comes The Flood Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky 58.7% 700ml
Fleurieu Here Comes The Flood Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky 700ml
Cask Strength Australian Single Malt Whisky - 58.7% ABV | Fleurieu Distillery, Goolwa, South Australia
Storm-Born and Barrel-Bold
Named after the Peter Gabriel track and matured beside the tempestuous Southern Ocean, Here Comes The Flood is a cask strength statement of Fleurieu Distillery's elemental style. Crafted from local barley and distilled in copper pot stills, this single malt is matured in heavily charred Australian red wine casks before bottling at a robust 58.7% ABV, unfiltered and unapologetic.
The nose erupts with dark fruit compote, burnt caramel, red liquorice and scorched oak. Beneath that lies a smoky brine, nodding to its coastal maturation. The palate delivers intensity and structure: black cherry, molasses, roasted nuts and warm spice, all riding a firm wave of tannin and toasted wood. Despite the high strength, balance is retained by a juicy mid-palate and generous texture.
The finish is long, drying and complex, offering cacao, peppercorn, black tea and a persistent maritime echo.
Final Thought
Here Comes The Flood is Fleurieu at full throttle - coastal, cask-forward and full of purpose. A must for lovers of Australian whisky with boldness, weight and soul.
