Domaine Michel Lafarge Bourgogne Rouge 2022
From Petit Pré which was once classified as Volnay villages. Planted between 1966-1977. 2 weeks cuvaison, indigenous yeast fermentation. Aged for 18 months in older barrels.
‘The 2022 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, a blend of two vineyards, offers vivid red cherry, raspberry and light bergamot scents on the nose, well-defined, perhaps not with quite the same class as the Passetoutgrains. The harmonious palate has impressive grip, quite Volnay-like in style, unsurprising given that the vines conjoin the appellation, quite sumptuous on the finish. Worth seeking out. Drink 2025-2035’ Neal Martin, Vinous Oct 2023
