Domaine Meo-Camuzet Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots 2023
Tastings notes from the winery
Tasting
A wine which is very typical of the appellation ...Vosne-Romanée: its roundness, its fleshy plumpness, its discreet but effective structure. Its great maturity and its balance belie the reputation for austerity which goes with Nuits.
Ageing
This wine ages well, but shows the best it has to offer at the beginning of its development: the fruit is there in generous quantities without its counterpart, the aggressiveness which can be felt in certain other appellations.
Maturing
The evolution is harmonious and fairly precocious. In the cask, it's a wine which shows off the vintage in its best light. Moreover, it can stand up well to new oak, particularly from Tronçais,
Vinification

Vines
The vines are beginning to get quite old, since half of them were planted in the early 1950's and the other half in the mid-1960's. The grapes are concentrated and very small. They ripen very well and are resistant to rot in the years when it appears.
Situation
Or when Vosne exercises its influence beyond its boundaries... Indeed, Nuits Boudots is the most northerly appellation of Nuits-St-Georges and neighbours on Vosne Malconsorts. Ideally situated on the lower (and nobler) part of the hill and facing eastward, this appellation has a fairly fragmented soil of average depth. Our plot is over two acres in size. At the top of this plot, the slope is quite steep, which has necessitated a protection against gully erosion.
