Bladnoch Distillery, founded in 1817 and recently revitalised under Australian entrepreneur David Prior in 2015, has reemerged as a vibrant Lowland producer.

With the 2022 release of Liora, their first expression bottled at "distiller's strength", the distillery steps confidently forward.

The name Liora means “gift of light” in Hebrew, a nod both to the whisky's brightness and its role in leading the Classic Collection into bolder territory.

Matured in a refined mix of first-fill bourbon and new oak casks, Liora delivers both freshness and suppleness in a distilled package.

On the nose, it offers crisp cut apples, toasted caramel and delicate florals, underlined with a fresh oak presence. The palate carries vanilla cream, peppery spice and cinnamon apple, all supported by a bright, slightly tannic oak structure. At 52.2% ABV, it's the most robust Lowlander in Bladnoch's lineup - strong yet articulate.

The finish is long and warming, with lingering oak, spice and a firm malt core. Liora manages to speak loudly without sacrificing finesse - clarity and strength in equal measure.
